DESCRIPTION:The Annual Meeting of Friends of Staunton State Park will take place at the Visitor Center in Staunton State Park on Friday\, November 6\, 2020 starting at 2:00pm. The Visitor Center is located at the entrance to Staunton State Park\, located at 12102 S. Elk Creek Rd\, Pine\, CO 80470.  \n\n\n\nBoard members will report on activities and conduct association business as required. Any Friends of Staunton State Park member wishing to be nominated for election to the board should contact a current board member. There will be three vacancies on the board that need to be filled and the board will be presenting a slate of candidates for your consideration. A Proxy form has been mailed to all current Friends of Staunton State Park members in good standing in the event that they are unable to attend the meeting and wish to place their vote.

DESCRIPTION:Due to COVID-19 CDC and state mandates\, we will not be having traditional trick or treating at Staunton. In an attempt to spread out visitors and to keep staff\, volunteers and visitors safe\, we will have educational hikes along two different trails. Start your hike at the visitor center Davis Ponds trail head or start at the Ranch Hand Picnic area Davis Ponds trail head. An additional hike will start at the Staunton Ranch Trail head. These self guided hikes will be fun facts and fiction about Halloween creatures and phenomena at Staunton Park! Visit the visitor center patio for an Owl display \, the Meadow upper parking lot for a Bat display and the Ranch Hand Group picnic area to see the Mad Dr Staunton! Treat the kids to a fun and educational and sometimes tricky trail hike for a 2020 Halloween the kids won’t forget!To​ keep staff\, visitors and volunteers safe please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Hop on the hay-ride at the visitor center or road below Meadow Parking or it’s a 30 min hike on the Davis Ponds to Chase Meadow Trail from either the Visitor Center or Group Picnic Area. DESCRIPTION:Come join some old time fun\, live music by the campfire! Learn about how Doctors Rachel and Archibald Staunton treated patients during the pandemic of their times\, with old school surgery techniques and medicinal plants. John Steinle will be there to discuss remedies of the day. \n\n\n\nExperience the protest of the Feather Trade and the fight to protect our beautiful colorful birds from becoming decorations on ladies hats! \n\n\n\nTrapping and Hunting gear used in the day will be displayed along with the valuable furs that were sought after by fur traders. \n\n\n\nAll events will be held at the historical Staunton Cabin. Hop on the hay-ride at the visitor center or road below Meadow Parking or it’s a 30 min hike on the Davis Ponds to Chase Meadow Trail from either the Visitor Center or Group Picnic Area. Also easily accessed along Staunton Ranch Trail to the Historical Cabin District. \n\n\n\nTo keep staff\, visitors and volunteers safe please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
